Exciting News from St Vincent de Paul
As many of you may know, St Vincent de Paul’s Thrift Store has been bursting at its very fragile seams for many years. Our prayers have been answered! We have secured a larger building — a beautiful space, well suited to our needs, but requiring extensive refurbishings. The new location is 1645 - 3rd Avenue, across from the Native Friendship Centre.
A team from the Board of Directors and the Community is drawing up plans for the refurbishing, making plans for community involvement, and planning some fund raising activities.
As things progress we would like to use this forum to keep you apprised of our needs, plans, and progress. Please check back often.
We have an extensive list of materials which will be needed in order to complete the necessary changes to the new building. We are hoping that individuals and businesses in Prince George will study the list below and consider how they might be able to help.
To donate building materials, please contact
Dave Fuller at 250-617-7467
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED
At various times we will be having work bees to do labouring jobs at the new store. At other times we will be needing volunteers who have specific trades skills to help with specific needs for refurbishing the new store. Currently we are needing electricians and plumbers.
If you are interested in helping out, please let us know your interests and skills by calling Ron at 250-565-5034
Please keep checking back here for further informition about upcoming work bees.
